CARMEN® DOT Software USDOT (DOT) NUMBER RECOGNITION SOFTWARE LIBRARY & SDK RECOGNITION ENGINE FOR ROAD SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE APPLICATIONS The Carmen® DOT software is a specialized version of the Carmen® Recognition Software family. Carmen® DOT is engineered to extract and read the USDOT number of a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) from captured images. All commercial vehicles in the USA must bear a unique identification number obtained from the Department of Transportation. This number is the USDOT (or DOT) number. Carmen® DOT allows U.S. trucking and traffic systems automatic identification, tracking, and abilities to build complex databases and control inventory systems with high accuracy, speed and agility. Carmen® DOT enables traffic and security systems to automatically identify and verify commercial vehicles from a variety of image sources. Capable of collecting audit, inspection and compliance information, the software provides the DOT number, date, time and location of commercial motor vehicles to check against key information in state and federal databases in real time with the most accurate recognition rates available in today’s market.
