SYMPHONY PARK BACKGROUND In 2009, the city of Las Vegas, designated 61 acres in the heart of the downtown area for mixed use development to be called Symphony Park. Construction was completed in early 2013 for this project, which now offers a variety of four different public spaces including cultural, residential, shopping and restaurant, and medical office areas. EL PASO CIVIC CENTER BACKGROUND The rich historical heritage of El Paso, Texas is manifested in the city’s cultural focus of the Civic Center Plaza, located next to the distinctive sombrero-like shape of the Abraham Chavez Theater, designed in the 1970’s.
