Our Full Circle program combines contemporary design and technological innovation with handmade craft to create beautiful products for architectural spaces. We collaborate with talented artisans throughout the world who have a deep tradition of craftsmanship and connection to materials. What began as a search for amazing materials has become a connection between design and artisans from around the world. During a visit to Nepal following the recent earthquakes, we saw an opportunity to work with artisans to create unique interlayers using repurposed materials from their rebuilding efforts. The following Full Circle designs represent this collaboration and pave the way for a brighter future for the artisans we work with in Nepal.

Kathali Kathali, the Nepalese word for wooden, is a tribute to the post-earthquake rebuilding efforts utilizing wood, an abundant resource in Nepal. Villagers trim and smooth raw pine beams with hand planers, leaving piles of aromatic shavings. These shavings are then collected, shaped, and painted by local artisans. Lina Kokhana, Nepal was one of the hardest hit areas during the 2015 earthquakes. The rural Himalayan village near Kathmandu is home to artisans skilled in working with bamboo. Close collaboration with our Nepali partners led us to develop a new style of cut bamboo dowels. Lina, which means stick in Nepalese, is a pattern of dowels that are hand painted and bundled by local artisans and sent to our team in the US for final arrangement. Human Connection Full Circle is about making meaningful, one-on-one connections. We believe a worker's rights are human rights. We support fair trade wages and are committed to providing safe, healthy working environments. Beyond product development, we identify opportunities where we can improve living conditions for entire communities such as tuition programs, micro-savings groups, and community gardens. Dance & Pogo Simple hand-bent wire designs made by artisans in Senegal create three-dimensional graphics with a rhythmic, playful sense of movement. Collaboration with community leaders has established micro-savings groups, organic gardens, and solar-powered phone charging stations.

Connection Square The production and harvest of silk, which has been the same patient process for generations, has declined in recent years. Through Full Circle, Nepalese women now return to the time-honored tradition with Connection. Strands of silk are hand dyed and layered into a variety of pattern styles. Full Circle Design These designs present a wide range of indigenous interlayers that are the hallmark of the Full Circle program. Each design is carefully handcrafted by local artisans and then sent to our skilled fabrication team at 3form to create the finished product in Varia or Glass. Nepal A strong history of paper making along with an abundance of silk and wood raw materials have led our collaborative efforts in Nepal.
