PAINT PROTECTION PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Styrene-acrylic protective painting with excellent permeability to vapour. When it dries it becomes an elastic barrier that creates an effective anti-carbonation action. PRODUCT APPLICATION • Waterproof protection for hydraulic binders-based plasters, even if microcracked • Waterproof and anti-carbonation protection for reinforced concrete structures, even if minor deformations are present • Waterproof protection for thermal insulation systems • Decorative coating on CP1, CP2 or X-RAPID • Extremely effective anti-carbonation barrier to protect the concrete • Excellent water repellency and vapour permeability • Excellent resistance against aggressive physical and chemical atmospheric agents (ex: wind, smog, etc) • Adheres firmly to mineral-based surfaces, even if painted • Good deformability • Highly resistant to UV rays • Vast range of colours available • Low dirt pick up Surfaces coated with CP1/CP2 Wait for complete curing, then clean any dust or crust from the surface by brushing or low-pressure washing. When the surface is dry, apply PROFIX 40 (see related technical sheet) in the same colour as the PAINT PROTECTION finish. It is only possible to leave out PROFIX 40 if the colour of the surface and the colour of the product are identical or slightly different. Existing concrete surfaces in good state or newly-built Scarify any surfaces where there are loose parts, even if partially detached, efflorescence and dust or grease. Then high-pressure clean. Clean the exposed reinforcement bars and passivate them with SANOFER. Repair deteriorated parts with a Volteco mortar cycle (see the relative technical data sheets). When the surface is dry, apply the specific PROFIX 40 (see related technical sheet) in the same colour as the PAINT PROTECTION finish. PAINT PROTECTION humidity in general could cause white-ish, translucent streaking (”snail streaks”). This temporary phenomenon does not affect product performance and can be easily eliminated with pressure washing or waiting for the next rainfall. Clean the tools well with water after use and remove dry paint with a nitro thinner.
