But KAREA is also outstanding in that itprovides optimum lighting quality at theworkstation. The SensControl lightingmanagement system integrated into the luminaire allows individual adjustment ofilluminance – depending on the user’s per-sonal wishes and requirements, according to the respective tasks to be carried out,and based on the daylight conditions chan-ging over the course of the day. The pro- grammable daylight sensor of SensControl ensures that the working zone is illuminatedappropriately at all times.Additional savings potential is created by a presence detector, which automaticallyswitches off the luminaire whenever nomovement is detected in the task area over a certain period of time (max. of 15 min.).Depending on the luminaire version, thecontrol system is set and operated either via buttons or via the LCD display locatedon the luminaire head. However, KAREAcreates significant savings potential also in the version without lighting control system. It is fitted with a 2-way switch, optionallyenabling operation with two or four lamps. switches (+/–),the set point of daylight-basedcontrol can, at any time, beadjusted to suit personal requi- rements. In this way, the lightinglevel can be optimised individu-ally, depending on the task, ambient lighting and the user’spersonal needs. The user canchoose between an automatic control system and manual adjustment. The direct light component re-duced by the mains switch and pushbutton switches on the luminairehead can be reached easily. In the simple version, without inte-grated lighting control system,the user is free to choose two- lamp or four-lamp operation.Using the two

The light sensor monitors thelighting conditions at the work- station and controls the artificiallighting required on the basis ofa set point. The pivoting infrared presence detector (PIR) can beindividually adjusted to the roomsituation. It automatically swit- ches off the luminaire after aperiod of max. 15 minutes with-out detecting any movement. The

SensControlLCD is the mostconvenient SensControl lighting management system for KAREAuplights. The central module ofthis version is a small LCD dis- play, which provides informationon various operating states andsettings. The clear menu gui-dance enables the user to ope- rate the luminaire almost intuiti- vely and to easily programmeindividual functions. In additionto individually setting the day- light sensor and presence de-tector, it is possible, amongother things, to call up pre-setprofiles, to programme switch- on times, and to select the menu language (UK, D, F and I)at the press of a button. Thereis also a setting for either dim-ming KAREA up or switching itto standby mode upon restora-tion of power. This innovativecontrol system features smart technology combined with opti-mum convenience of operation.

SensControl is easy to operateand ensures ideal lighting conditionsat your workstationat all times. The daylight sensorand presence de-tector considerably reduce the amountof time the lightingis switched on, so KAREA is very economical. Thestandby power is a mere max. 0.9 watts. The presence de- tector of SensCon- trol monitors thepresence of peopleover an area of approx. 5.4 m x4.1 m (at floorlevel). KAREA will only be switched on if somebody ispresent in this areaand the lighting conditions are in-appropriate there.
