TEMPURA IN MUSEUMS 9 IR- and UV-free light To set art and cultural items centre stage, gentle lighting is a must. Conventional lighting technology, even when protective filters are used, releases enormous amounts of IR and UV radiation. In the long term, this causes damage to exhibits which cannot be repaired or damage which can only be repaired at great expense. TEMPURA satisfies all the requirements of conservation lighting and generates absolutely cold IR- and UV-free light, even at high illuminance levels. Long service life and maintenance-free TEMPURA's low power consumption of less than 50 W as well as its stabilised luminous flux over a period in excess of 50,000 hours are both extremely important factors for operators of arts and culture facilities. Due to structural constraints, the luminaires in many buildings are difficult to access. Special-purpose air-conditioning and alarm systems also make maintenance more difficult. A spotlight that provides stable luminous flux operating 12 hours a day for 12 years offers outstanding economic benefits.
