TEMPURA TECHNOLOGY 17 What this means in practice for users: Museums attach great importance to practical precautions for protecting delicate exhibits. In contrast, they do not specify a colour rendition index. The TEMPURA LED spotlight uses RGB technology to allow individual composition of light spectra. Wavelengths outside the application-specific range can be reduced or eliminated in order to illuminate an art object as gently as possible. The effect of individual colours and materials can be accentuated and modified if required thanks to the luminaire's variable colour temperature. This is not possible using a conventional light source with a fixed spectrum. In wellness and beauty areas, the luminaire's adjustable colour temperature provides unique ways of flattering various skin types, thereby significantly enhancing the "feel-good"effect. LED technology consumes much less energy than conventional lamp technology to produce this very rich, intense, coloured and above all dynamically coloured light. From a conservator's viewpoint, TEMPURA creates scope for new design approaches for long-lasting concepts. In the past, very limited illuminance levels had to be used in order to protect materials and hence the value of exhibits. Despite taking every possible technical protective measure, UV light, as well as residual infrared, is always especially damaging. The absolutely UV- and IR-free light produced by the TEMPURA LED spotlight makes a clean break with these old habits and allows significantly higher illuminance levels as well as providing a protective function. As the comparison with tungsten-halogen and HIT lamps with simulated one million lux-seconds exposure clearly shows, the precise LED technology of the TEMPURA spotlight guarantees gentle lighting in total conformity with conservation requirements. This means that relatively high illuminance levels can be used to set even delicate exhibits centre stage and to ensure improved visual comfort.
