CIELOS LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY 25 How does the colour get in the luminaire? >
Colour mixing in the colour triangle
Coloured lamps or sheathing
the T16 light source in coloured
film produces coloured light.
Special coloured films that emit
especially intense, pure light
were developed for CIELOS.
They are available as accesso-
ries in the three primary colours
red, green and blue. Any other
coloured film suitable for use in
luminaires can also be used.
The luminaire lives up to the promise of its elegant external
appearance. The low-profile
front made of glass and sheet
steel conceals state-of-the-art
technology. All the electrical
components are integrated in
the basic unit – the fully Intermediate hues can be mixed
by using lamps of various col-
ours (red, green, blue) or several
light colours (warm, intermediate
or cool white). >
Multicoloured
Because of their high satura-
tion, the three primary colours
red, green and blue (RGB)
open up a wide dynamic
range and the possibility of
producing any desired colour
within the primary-colour tri-
angle by mixing colours. Add-
ing the three primary colours
together produces white. The
multicoloured CIELOS’s
strength lies in its vivid col-
ourfulness and radiance. >
Monochrome
Both options are possible here:
either select a light colour in the
white range of the Planckian
curve (white light source with
appropriate colour temperature)
or one of the primary colours
red, green or blue. >
Bicoloured
Smooth to the touch, high-quality appearance, strength, no yellowing
and no greenish hue, no electrostatic
charge and no fire risk: its countless
aesthetic and functional advantages
make glass the architect’s material
of choice. Bicoloured luminaires produce
all the colours located on the
line that connects two colour
locations (linear mixing). Results
are highly variable, depending
on the particular combination. White plus white Intermediate white in two differ-
ent colour temperatures makes it possible to switch, for in >

stance, from a warm 2,700 K to a somewhat cooler 6,000 K. White plus one colour Combining white with one colour makes it possible to mix white light to any selected
colour. Colour plus colour Mixing two colours makes it
possible to obtain mixtures
located on the line that con-
nects these colours in the
colour triangle. enclosed double diffuser cham- ber and the layer of glass on top of it distribute light evenly and
uniformly. Even CIELOS with a
mounting height of just 80 mm
achieves a high level of uniform-
ity, thanks to clever arrangement
of the light sources. >
