Latest-generation luminous ceilings Low-profile, modular and made of glass
CIELOS meets all the functional requirements placed on a lumi-
nous ceiling but nevertheless adopts an entirely new ap-proach. The biggest difference is its shallow surface-mounted
height.
The monochrome CIELOS is
just 80 mm high; the bicoloured
and multicoloured luminaires
measure just 7 cm more.
A total height of 150 mm for a
multicoloured luminous field is a
unique selling point. And its sur-
faces are illuminated right up to
the edge – the only way that
Conventional luminous
ceilings use almost no lighting technology
at all. They rely exclusively on
maximum clearance between
lamp and diffuser in order to pro-
duce uniform illumination. Mount-
ing heights often range from 300
to 700 mm, yet hardly any con-
ventional luminous ceiling offers
the same colour neutrality and
infinite colour spectrum as
CIELOS. individual luminaires can be
combined to form a luminous
ceiling.
A variety of innovative high-tech
features are used in order to cut
its height drastically compared
to a traditional luminous ceiling.
Every module is a self-contained
luminaire element, fully equipped
with ballast and a sophisticated
double diffuser chamber. Light
is diffused twice: firstly in a dif-
fuser layer with backing, then in
the safety glass with a visually
high-grade finish. The problem
of eliminating any unwanted
greenish hue was solved by deliberately using high-grade
iron-free glass. At the same
time, using glass prevents age-
ing and solves the problem of
fire-load regulations.
The frosted front of the glass
cover is well protected against
finger marks, thus making main-
tenance so much easier.
Every CIELOS module is uni-
formly illuminated right up to its
outer edge. When several ele-
ments are placed side by side,
joints are barely visible. Although
the CIELOS luminous ceiling is
modular, it produces an im-pressive, perfectly homoge-neous ceiling look. Its extra
small, but extremely strong,
metal clips guarantee maxi-
mum safety, firmly fixing the
glass panels to their frame in
any installation position. >
