Die in Beirut geborene und in London lebende Zaha Hadid ist in Innsbruck/A keine Fremde. Nach ihren Entwürfen wurde bereits die Sprungschanze am Berg Isel gebaut, 2007 folgt die Nordkettenbahn. Diese verbindet das Städtische mit dem Alpinen, das Funktionale mit dem Auf-sehenerregenden. Kennzeichnend für die Stationsgebäude von Hungerburg- und Nordkettenbahn ist die fluide Formensprache der Dachtopographien und Beton- sockel. Daraus resultierten auch die Anforderungen an einen lichtführenden Handlauf. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Zumtobel wurde der, in die Sichtbetonkörper reliefartig eingesetzte, leuchten-de LED-Handlauf entwickelt. Er nimmt die fluide Formensprache auf und setzt sie funktionsspezi-fisch um – nach allen Regeln der Ergonomie, entsprechend den lichttechnischen Anforderungen in öffentlichen Gebäuden. The Berg Isel ski jump was built according to her design, and this was followed by the Northern funicular in 2007. This funicular links the urban to the alpine and the functional to the spectacular. The fluid stylistic idiom of the roof structures and concrete bases is distinctive of the Hungerburg and northern funicular station building. The project also resulted in the re- quirement for a handrail that uses light to provide guidance. The il-luminated LED handrail, which has been recessed into the fair-faced concrete, was developed in close cooperation with Zumtobel. The handrail echoes this fluid stylistic idiom and fulfils its function – spe- cifically in accordance with all ergonomic and technical lighting requirements in public buildings.
