ORILED Orientation luminaire

Zumtobel has once again achieved a new milestone in LED lighting technology with its ORILED luminaire. For the first time ever, it has developed a functional luminaire with univer- sal applications that can be used as ground-level orientation lighting even for escape routes. ORILED offers sufficient illumina- tion output for such uses and is equipped with an innovative LED optic (patent pending). It uses two white 1 W LEDs as a light source. Specially devel- oped lenses – combined with unique PSP+
® reflector technol-ogy (with an ultra-pure silver coating) – provide illuminance in accordance with Standard EN 1838 on escape routes. For the first time, illuminance level and light distribution can be cal- culated exactly using standard lighting design programs. By using appropriate control gear, ORILED can be integrated into lighting management sys- tems such as LUXMATE, DALI or the ONLITE emergency light- ing system. Emergency supply via the building management system’s central battery or 1-hour or 3-hour separate bat- tery supply guarantee adequate lighting of escape routes even in the event of an emergency. Besides functional aspects, spe-cial emphasis was also placed on the use of high-quality mate- rials. ORILED’s housing, for instance, is made of high-quality die-cast aluminium. The glass cover is optionally secured by a flush or overlapping frame made of non-corroding high-grade steel. Thanks to camlock fasten- ers, there are no visible screw heads to be seen. ORILED therefore blends into almost any environment harmoniously. Installation in brickwork or con-crete is really easy thanks to the matching casting surround (accessory). Overlapping lumi- naires are installed in cavity walls using the cavity wall instal- lation kit supplied. This is availa- ble separately as an accessory for flush-mounted models.
