Led light emitting diodes A technology that is becoming indispensable

Depending on the application area and lighting technology required, three different types of LED are used: Radial LEDs: These LEDs in the “classic” 3 or 5 mm sizes are soldered onto the underside of a circuit board. Zumtobel has been a pioneer in LED lighting technology since the year dot and has made it usable for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor lighting applications – in both decorative and functional areas. Continu- ously improving luminous fluxes and the development of efficient optical systems now enable more and more worthwhile light- ing solutions when it comes to projecting light. The lighting sceneries at FIFA’s new head-quarters in Zürich are an impres- sive example of this. Nowadays, hardly any lighting concept can get by without fascinating, versatile LED tech-nology. This is firstly due to the fact that ongoing further devel- opment has made significantly more applications possible and sensible than was the case until comparatively recently. Second- ly, the technology now supports straightforward, reliable and especially economical use. Our product portfolio now includes the right LED solution for almost every application.
