All testing takes place in laboratories equipped with the very latest facilities: besides technical lighting quality characteristics, products are tested to ascertain their mechanical, electrical and thermal characteristics. Accurate measurement of photometric performance and precise testing of electromagnetic compatibility are both a matter of course. Standard testing also includes inspections in accordance with DIN, EN and BS and, as well as checks for CE certification and numerous other tests during development. From April 2006 Fire Certificates are cancelled and replaced by employer risk assessment. Not carrying out such assessments could leave Company Directors open to prosecution and with invalidated insurance cover.
