Cost comparison For every emergency luminaire, there are very good reasons for monitoring using the SB 128 Controller
The amount invested in an emergency lighting system is the most-discussed cost factor, but it is by no means the major cost factor. Procurement costs - calculated over the lifetime of an emergency lighting installation - are far exceeded by expenditure on maintenance and testing.
Country-specific laws and regulations specify the intervals at which an emergency lighting installation has to be inspected. In the case of conventional emergency lighting installations, this requires regular inspection rounds throughout the entire building, manual actuation of test switches with subsequent waiting for test results, and keeping a test logbook manually. The effort involved is considerable, both in terms of time and expense. How fortunate that there are systems that take care of all these tasks.
