Installation and arrangement
If iersit is less than 30 , transition is barely perceptible, above 30 transition is blurred
and low-contrast, above 40 transition is clearly perceptible, and above 50 it is obviously
distracting (leads to customer
complaints).

naires and arranging lamps.Measurement results demon-strate that the overlapping ar-
rangement adopted by TETRIStechnology ensures almost per-fectly uniform light. Thismakes
it the ideal solution for cove
lighting.
In the case of coves fitted withTETRIS models with overlapped
lamps, the wall clearance canbe reduced to 10 cm. If high-efficiency lamps are used rather
than high-output lamps, this
improves uniformity by 30 .Lamps must be arranged sothat cool spots and hot spots
overlap. The marking on thelamps must be turned awayfrom the wall. If installed verti-
cally, the cool spot must pointdownwards.
No room can be illuminated us-ing light from coves alone. Covelighting is used for specific de-
sign and architectural features. This means that maximum pos-sible homogeneity of light is
more important than efficiency.Cove lighting has to cope withconfined spaces, which makes
it even more important to takeinto account the very latesttechnical lighting know-how
