| Wunderkammerstudio like the first museums born on the North of Europe around 1600. Spaces thought for very particular collections, coming from ancient times and places. The owners and designers are the two brothers Claudia and Mattia Frignani. In their "Wunder Kammer", privileged eye in the contemplation of the fantastic world, a surreal world is recreated, a place where it is possible for the thought to overcome the known and visible, in dream and memory. Wunderkammerstudio designs the restoration of public and private spaces. Between 1992 and 1995, co-operated with "Max Mara" to furnish the boutiques in Verona, Rome and Tokyo and togetherwith Kashiyama in Paris creates a series of iron sculptured mannequin. During year '94, co-operated with Jean Paul Gautier for the opening of a new boutique in Milan. During year '97, furnished in Milan the "Aveda" shop, in '98 "Gerard Loft" in Florence, in year 2000 the gallery "Araldica" in Bologna and the beauty farm "Vertigine" in Milan. In year 2002 "Hotel de la Russie" in Via del Babbuino and the "Bloom" bar in via del Teatro Pace in Rome. The very original style hits for the architectural design of the strong reference to the past reviewed in a modern key. Out of time spaces and dreamlike scenography are in balance between art and design, beauty and functionality. Since 1992 Wunderkammerstudio participates every year in the international design fair "Salone del mobile di Milano", presenting their new collection: furniture, lights and complements which become a pretext to draw in the space shapes full of grace, strength and power; shapes that seems to remake the creative way of nature. Claudia and Mattia personally provide the realization of the prototypes, which they reproduced in limited series by the most qualified craftsmen. All the production is followed in minimum details and some of the objects are assembled and refined in the Wunderkammer laboratories. Aluminium fusions are realized with an ancient technique. The difference in tones, the light nuances of colours and superficial imperfections are some of the characteristics of these unique objects, exclusive, out of fashion and thought to improve with time. |
