Preamble

Wilkhahn participates on a voluntary basis in the Community Eco-Manage-ment and Audit Scheme (EMAS) of the European Community in accordancewith EC Regulation No 761/2001 and, at the same time, undergoes certifica- tion in conformity with the Environmen- tal Management System ISO 14001. Revision, certification and validationhave been carried out by the TÜV Nord Cert GmbH & Co.KG. Registration of the site of Wilkhahn, Bad Münder, Germany in the list of audited sites has been undertaken by the Hanover-Hildesheim Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Wilkhahn Bad Münder is registeredunder No D-133-000-55 in the European Community’s list of registered sites. In order to embody environmental man- agement in corporate management and to use resulting synergies, it forms part of an integrated management system, which brings together environmental management, quality management and industrial safety. Wilkhahn agrees to an annual revision of its internal environ- mental management system as well as to preparation of an annual Environ-mental Statement in short form. This Environmental Statement is part ofour environmental management systemand constitutes our statement to the public.The next Environmental Statement willbe drawn up in January 2006. The next comprehensive Environmental State- ment is scheduled for January 2008.With the validation of Wilkhahn’s envi-ronmental management system, we wish to make a contribution to the sustainable conservation of the environ- ment and, at the same time, to fulfil our active responsibility towards society.
