Craftsmanship and respect for nature HANDCRAFTED BRICKS > Handcrafted bricks really used to be handmade. The brickmaker took a lump of clay and placed it in a wooden mould previously sprinkled with sand. He pressed the clay, removedany excess from the edges and turned the mould. The result? Each brick was unique. Todayall these processes are still the same, but they are carried out by ultra-modern machines and thanks to the mix of various types of clay superb shades of colour can be obtained. MECHANICALBRICKS > Mechanical bricks are manufactured by extruding the clay through a die and cutting it to size. They can be smooth, flat and regular, or textured and sanded. Mechanical bricks owe theircolours to the types of clay used during manufacturing and the temperature at which theyare fired. BRICK SLIPS > Brick slips are perfectly suited for renovation or to create a traditional effect. They can be cut to different thicknesses retaining the aesthetic appearance of the original brick. Brick slips offer the ideal solution for details where the use of conventional bricks is not possible with width or loading restrictions. Typical applications would include off-siteconstruction and wall cladding.
