I am not fond of white. The world would be more beautiful without it. There should be a tax on white paint. There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours. A colour must be judged in the context of other colours - never alone. People get annoyed if one likes colours. They also get annoyed at people with imagination. Most people want what they are used to. Goethe painted the rooms in his Weimar house in different colours. Unwanted guests got a cold blue room which made them leave faster. The dining-room was in warm yellow; there is always sun in a yellow room. Goethe himself worked in a green garden room. Dark-eyed people are much more sensitive to colour than light-eyed people. On the other hand light-eyed people are more sensitive to formsӔ. (Verner Panton - from the book Notes on Colour). >
