Press release Milan – Salone del Mobile, 16-21 April 2008 TREND presents Eco-philosophy At the Milan Salone del Mobile the company is anticipating the concept at the basis of the development of a new line of mosaics and agglomerates by supporting a series of initiatives devoted to ecological compatibility. An ethical approach to business Do not pollute; recycle. This, in short, is the ”Eco-philosophy“ with which TREND is developing a new line of mosaics and agglomerates obtained from the reclamation of waste thrown into the bottle banks. The colours will be those of the bottles and glass containers in common use: all the gradations of green, brown, blue and white/transparent. TREND is already committed in the field of recycling with the line of agglomerates for which they re-use industrial glass (doors of
washing machines, car rear-view
mirrors and headlights). The headquarters in Miami, on the other hand, has achieved U.S. Green certification for TRENDQ, a collection of agglomerates made with recycled glass, both post-industrial and post-consumption. Values orient people’s behaviour, as well as that of companies. In the TREND value system there is full awareness that industry must take responsibility for the impact that the entire production process has on the environment that surrounds it. The leadership of a company is measured not only by the numbers but by the capacity to make all this concrete and effective. For TREND this Eco-philosophy is a business vision, a way of being and thinking and not simply a “one spot” operation. To support this, during the days of the Salone del Mobile 2008 the company has decided to participate in a series of initiatives in different points of the city of Milan that will express its commitment to re-use materials and a green approach to the designing of products. The Eco-philosophy will be presented in the historic Giardini Ingegnoli, where TREND is participating in the Milano Green Project in the Nido d’uomo exhibition conceived and designed by Angelo Jelmini and Patrizia Pozzi. A series of artistic installations will be exhibited, supported by the contribution of various companies and designers, and developed on the theme of the nest understood as the manifesto of the human
habitat considered with an eco-bio approach. In this extraordinary open-air frame there’s a series of nest-islands in which TREND has created symbolic totems >
