Thorn's Indoor Lighting Controls portfolio is grouped into three distinct usage types 1. SensaLite features Thorn luminaires with built-in sensors and remote sensors, offering standard presence/absence detection, daylight-linking and infra-red control. SensaLite is the first step to comfort and energy saving, and is used for small office applications, simple • SwitchLite consists of switching presence/absence detection • RotaryDIM offers precise manual control via a wall plate • SensaDigital covers both features: Daylight-linked dimming, presence/ absence detection and manual override via...

Key Benefit - Tailored-fit presence-link The most expensive light is the one that is still on in unoccupied rooms or areas. SensaModular enables you to automatically conserve energy whenever people are absent, allowing you to choose between three options: Using one SensaModular multi-sensor per luminaire group • The SensaModular multi-sensors provide a presence-link function that may be allocated to the luminaire groups individually. • This option is perfect for applications with zoned lighting, e.g. group offices, and considers the recommendations regarding presence-link stated in EN...

The SensaModular control unit features two inbuilt rotary switches that allow the user to determine the desired operation mode and Off Delay time for the presence- link function. These are easily and quickly set using a screwdriver. (On/Off mode) Lighting is switched On whenever a person sensor, and is slowly faded to Off, after a set Off delay time, as soon as the sensor detects absence. If several sensors are used then SensaModular will delay fading to Off until all of the sensors have reported absence. Absence-link (only Off mode) Lighting is slowly faded to Off, after a set Off delay...

Key Benefit - Tailored-fit daylight-link Using one 'look down' multi-sensor luminaire group is installed on the ceiling, aimed at the working plane to register the light level. • Supports the recommendations stated in of zones smaller than 30m2, thus resulting in a good rating of the installation for 'building passport' purposes. • Maintains illuminance despite aging of lamps and dirt on luminaires. • Ideal for larger, zoned applications, like group offices. • SensaModular multi-sensor heads combine daylight with presence linking • Measures daylight and artificial light reflected from...

Key Benefit - Scene setting No application is used for only one activity or task: Therefore SensaModular allows a user to set scenes and to adapt the lighting to the different tasks. Scene plate With the wall recessed SensaModular scene plate three scenes as well as the Off scene can be set and recalled. The active scene is visualised with indicator LEDs integrated into the keys. Three pairs of keys are used to dim and brighten the luminaire groups individually and a further pair allow all luminaires to be dimmed or brightened. The scene plate has a brass front in satin steel finish,...

Key Benefit - DSI/DALI auto detection SensaModular uses DSI/DALI auto detection luminaire outputs (patented), and allows you to connect either: • Luminaires with electronic ballasts showing DSI (Digital Serial Interface) controllability, e.g. Thorn HFD luminaire versions • Luminaires with DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) controllability, e.g. Thorn HFX luminaire versions • One ballast type, either DSI or DALI, can be connected to each controller output (see table for permitted configurations Every luminaire output of a SensaModular controller will check, individually, the type...
