Shamal® prototype sunscreen Terreal's Centre for Research,Design and Development, based near the Revel factoryand the clay pit, brings all the company's know-how
together at the disposal of the
most ambitious architectsand engineers in order to takeup their innovative ideas and
enrich their creative practice
with solutions adapted to
easy industrialization. TheCRED does not hesitate tostudy new concepts in terra-
cotta façades whenever thisis justified by the scale of the project. The CRED has already set
up this "customized" procedure, dedicated entirely to the cus-tomer, to develop a moiré pink colour, thin cladding products, a
metallic surface treatment, new sections, and more. The CRED makes numerous contributions to Terreal: > design of new product models, using advanced tools such asComputer Aided Design and rapid prototyping > experimental trials on pilot lines to verify matching of process to prod-uct and validate the choice of production line> performance assessment tests enabling the most precise char-acterization of the product, thus enabling monitoring of quality
throughout the life of the product.> The Centre for Research, Design and Development is also rich-ly endowed with scientific know-how and experience recog-nized by the leading materials science academics in the domainof terracotta. 4
