SUNSCREENS

PRINCIPLE OF ASSEMBLYOF TERREAL SUNSCREEN SYSTEMS

Assembly of Autan
® sunscreen
The terracotta sunscreen products (Autan ® or Harmattan ® ) are threaded on to a metal tube 20 x 20 mm (material and thickness to be deter- mined as a function of wind force and span), and aregenerally separated by a neoprene foam interface, aflexible substance which takes up the tolerances and expansion of the terracotta. The sunscreens are also essentially glued with (2 spots of polyurethane sealer in the central cavity) to stabilize them aroundthe metal tube. Zonda Assembly of
Harmattan ® sunscreen Assembly of Zonda
® sunscreen
® terracotta sunscreen products are assem-bled according to the same principle, but on 2 metaltubes 25 x 50 mm. Shamal 14 and Shamal 20 products can beequipped with a fixation interface kit comprising 2 aluminium plates at the ends of the product. The whole assembly is held together by 2 threaded rodsrunning through it and bolted at the ends, with mul-tiple rubber interfaces. In the following pages, Terreal will present various examples of applications of its sunscreens. It will then be up to you to definethe system that corresponds to your project. These are the assembly principles most commonly employed on building sites.
