On that occasion, too, fluorescent and dichroic sources, Wood's design lamps and design fiber optics shed their technical-function garb and became tools and content of artistic creativity, in a harmonious duet with the theater's refined architecture. Like the first two, and following the inspiration that is the basis for the Targetti Art Light Collection, it invites young creatives (under 35) to design and construct an artwork using artificial light as both tool and content. While keeping within certain formal guidelines established by the sponsors, the artists can use any material and technology and consult with Targetti's experts by phone to optimize the expressve potential of light in their projects. The winners will received a prize of 25.000.= and their pieces will become part of the TARGETTI LIGHT ART COLLECTION. The entries will be judged by a prestigious international modern panel chaired by Steven D. Lavine, president of Calarts (California Institute of the Arts), and comprising Stefania Aluigi (director of ArteFiera), Umberto Allemandi (editor in chief of "Il Giornale dell'Arte"), Amnon Barzel (artistic director of the Targetti Art Light collection), Alessandra Mammi (culture features editor of "L'Espresso), Marino Golinelli (entrepreneur and collector), Nigel Coates (professional chairman of the department of architecture of the College of Arts and Paolo Targetti (chairman of Targetti Sankey SPA).
