About the Artist

Mark Olson is a master glass designer and craftsman with a 30-year career of bringing swirling, organic glass designs to America’s fi nest homes. He studied alongside world-renowned Dale Chihuly and German master glass artist Ludwig Schaff rath in his time at the prestigious Pilchuk Glass School. After producing a variety of commissions for Washington residents, Mark created Unique Art Glass, a custom glass design studio, in 1989. Unique Art Glass has become a popular choice for northwest custom home and commercial spaces due to Mark’s interpretive art architectural glass panels and restoration abilities.Mark creates his designs with careful attention to architecture, interior design and function, collaborating with manufacturers, architects, designers and other craftsmen on each project. “As an artist in my youth and a glass artist all of my adult life, I still fi nd myself constantly exploring art. I learned early on while at Pilchuk that all that can be done in the medium of glass has yet to be discovered. I appreciate all forms of art and architecture. With glass as my medium of choice, I believe my art should be useful and beautiful but also harmonious and natural to its surrounding environment.”
