| | | Matra is a software that converts the coordinates from a geographic system to another. Operations and complex calculations, like those needed for the transformation of coordinates between different geographic systems, can be performed in a few minutes, (allowing to save time and money) using the native format of your data, even if you are not an expert cartographer. | | |
| | | Conversion of point databases ► Import and export of ASCII files with any type of format Conversion of map files ► Import and export of ESRI Shape files ► Import and export of AutoCAD DXF files Parameters for coordinate conversion Matra includes a complete database of parameters for the conversion of coordinates which contains the systems commonly used today. It is possible to personalize completely the database by adding new systems or by modifying the existing ones. The database supplied includes: ► 339 transformation datums ► 1 5 linear units ► 61 ellipsoids Datum transformation ► Molodensky ► Bursa/Wolfe Map projections More than 30 map projections. | | |
| | | Matra is a program for the transformation of coordinates from a coordinate system to another: for example, from latitude/longitude to Gauss/Boaga. Used with GPS systems, with surveys or with map drawings, Matra allows to calculate precisely transformations of geographic coordinates and geodetic calculations. Matra is a product easy to use, with a very good price-to-performance ratio and allows to obtain quickly and precisely conversions of coordinates. Matra is the ideal tool for all those who deal with satellite topography (GPS), geodesy and cartography. Matra includes a database equipped with the most widespread coordinate systems, datum and cartographic projections. Matra converts coordinates between UTM zones, Gauss-Boaga systems, Cassini-Soldner, coordinate systems defined by the user, systems of company coordinates; the mathematical algorythms are defined, for 34 map projections and more than 1000 definitions of coordinate systems are included, which are based on these projections. Moreover, it is possible to create new coordinate systems, based on the projections available. Matra allows to transform the coordinates interactively or to process databases, electronic pages, and map files In different formats. Matra offers three different conversion modes: Interactive conversion Point by point. You select the starting coordinate system, insert the coordinates, select the final coordinate system and then press the button 'Convert' to transform. | | |
| | | Conversion of point databases The coordinates are inserted in a table. The table is automatically adapted while the data are inserted in the cells; some columns are then defined, which contain the data to be converted; the starting coordinate system as well as the final coordinate system are then selected. In order to transform, now press the button 'Convert'. It is also possible: ► To load and save an ASCII file of coordinates; ► To modify the table by inserting columns, changing their headings and widening them; ► Specify in and out format of text files; ► Report the whole table. Conversion of map files The conversion of map files allows to convert AutoCAD DXF files, ESRI Shape files and other standard formats. Satellite topography Matra simplifies the use of GPS data in topography allowing to calculate transformation parameters from WGS84 or pseudo WGS84 into topographic coordinates. Matra can calculate very precisely transformation parameters both for Molodensky and for Bursa/Wolfe methods (7 parameters). The correction of data in elevation can be carried out by using specific models of geoid ondulation which are supplied with the tool or can be created according to the surveys performed. | | |
