| | | SierraSoft was established in 1998 in Pordenone (Italy) on the will of the members of Sierra Informatica, a leading company in Italy as far as the production of technical software. In the same year, SierraSoft takes over the whole production of software developed by Sierra Informatica from 1992 to 1998, leaving to the latter the role of exclusive national distributor of SierraSoft products for the Italian market as well as the task of providing technical support, training and consulting. SierraSoft was established with a precise mission: developing highly technological software and services, offering complete, easy, flexible and effective solutions for topography, civil engineering, architecture, cartography, GIS, disproving in this way the common place according to which technical software is complicated and expensive. Since the beginning, SierraSoft proves to be a forward-looking company, open to the international market, concerned both with the development of new software and with the task of locating products (multilingual translation and support of the different national policies) in view of their international distribution. The location of products is carried out with the purpose of providing users (surveyors, engineers and constructors) with tools that can be used everywhere in the world, despite different languages and national policy. With the same purpose, an Internet multilingual support service is granted. SierraSoft products operate in Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP environments and are at present available in seven languages (Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek). Moreover, such products follow the policies of the different nations (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, USA, etc.). SierraSoft internationalization begins in 1998, with the company participation, as exhibitor, at INTERGEO international fair, held in Germany. In January 1999 the first foreign distributor (Portugal) is activated. In 2000 SierraSoft takes part, as exhibitor, in CEBIT, the largest European fair of Information Technology. At the end of the same year, new distributors are activated in Germany, Spain and Greece. | | |
