Longitudinal profile
CAD Geomatics 11
A more and more complete and reliable CAD, which will not make you regret AutoCAD, allowing its complete integration.
A terrain profile can be extracted from the axis by considering an offset from it; the offset can be a fixed distance, or it can be defined by a planimetry polyline. In this way it is possible to extract terrain profiles concerning edges, sideslope bottoms, etc. A window displays dynamically, in planimetry, the longitudinal development of the terrain profile during axis insertion, selection or modification. The settings which form the profile dimensioning can be saved as Dimensioning style; it is possible to create different dimensioning styles and associate a style to each axis subproject. Profile dimensioning can be integrated with both speed diagram and sight diagram.

► Lens window allowing to display an enlargement of the drawing, level with the cursor; very useful for digitizing raster images or reading point labels, since it avoids frequent forward-backward zooms.
Volume calculation
The calculation of section volumes can be performed also by considering the position of the areas barycentre as to the axis; this option grants more precision in calculating sections on curve. The commands for volume calculation and consultation of results have been integrated into a common management, from which it is also possible to perform a report.
Genie
Genie is a technology by which it is possible to export, in a well structured way, ProSt calculation data into Opera software for estimate and accounting. It is possible to export not only the data concerning the calculation of areas and section volumes, but also data extracted from the planimetric drawing, such as polyline lengths, polygon areas, block quantities, etc. It is not a mere exportation, since the files of the two tools remain connected to each other, thus allowing, in case the project is modified, to perform a synchronization and an update of the previous data.
Data are exported in a structured way, since any value calculated can be associated not only with an item from the price list, but also with the structure of categories / subcategories.
Planimetry of project
Instead of being obtained from the cross sections, a planimetry of project can be obtained from the typical sections as well as from the settings of the parametric design; the typical section is inserted at a fixed step and on the main points along the alignment, granting a better quality of the drawing and of the mathematical model than the one obtained with the method by cross sections.
Axis on axis projection
In projecting the longitudinal profile of an axis on another, not only the transversal slope of the main axis is considered, but also the transversal slope of the axis on which the projection is performed. One or two polylines of planimetry define the limit to the use of the two slopes; between the two polylines a third slope can be set. By this integration to projection command all the difficulties concerning the design of ramps in the peak area are overcome.
At-grade Intersections
Planning such intersections as crossroads or roundabouts now makes it possible to define the different intersections that can be found in the project and, for each of them, to define the typology, the parametric typical section to use and its parameters. In case the alignments are modified, the intersections are updated immediately; by these settings it is possible to obtain directly the 3D model of the intersection.

The speed of sight diagram generation has been remarkably incremented and the drawing of the diagram can be completed with the dimensioning of the widening calculated. The sight diagram can be integrated with the dimensioning of the longitudinal profile, returning a drawing that reports project data as well as the corresponding stopping and sight distance.
