PAROC Technical Insulation - 16 Pages
PRODUCT PROPERTIES Maximum service temprature Maximum service temprature is one of the most important properties of any insulation product, especially in industrial applications. The operating temp驩rature in which the insulation product is used should be within the temprature range specified to the material in order to guarantee long term service under the application's conditions. The following factors should be considered when selecting insulation material: maximum temp镩rature rsistance of the insulation material and its possible facing material changes in thickness after heating and loading 镕 ability to withstand load and vibration linear shrinkage after heating Օ loss of compression strength after heating support structure for the insulation and possible air gaps that they might cause during expansion of the insulated construction. ■ /S Maximum service tempթrature is tested and defined according to diffrent test methods. They differ from each other slightly. The results for the same material also differ. PAROC products can withstand tempratures of up to 750 °C. Our sp驩cial product, PAROC High Temperature Slab, in which the fibres are bonded with a special binder, can be used in temperatures of up to 900 °C. At tempratures above 200 °C to 250 °C, a partial loss of binder will occur. This will not affect the efficiency of insulation products. A higher density helps to keep the insulation in rigid form. In practice, for pipe lines operating at temperatures above 350 °C, we recommend the use of pipe sections with a density of 140 kg/m3 in order to eliminate the risk of sinking over the long term. Applications which are intended to operate at high temperatures, and are insulated with one or more layers of stone wool, should undergo initial heat up at rates no greater than 50 °C per hour. l Large range of easy-to-install solutions High maximum service temperature Highly consistent dimensions and quality Excellent thermal insulation properties Fire resistant products Condensation and corrosion protection Widely certified products Noise reduction 0) 7
