PRODUCT PROPERTIES Properties to consider The demands placed on technical insulation are many and varied. Industrial, HVAC, marine and OEM applications all require insulation solutions with particular properties. Safety you can rely on A maximum operating temperature of 750 °C, or 900 °C for the special high temperature slabs, means that the insulation can be used safely and effectively at high temperatures without any loss of thermal performance or compression strength. In addition, the completely non-combustible nature of stone wool makes it ideal fire insulation. PAROC products do not melt, and they retain their form even at high temperatures, providing up to 240 minutes of fire protection. Protecting your investment The fibre structure and low air permeability of stone wool ensures extremely low thermal conductivity over a wide temperature range, helping to reduce heat losses and improve efficiency. As well as offering superior fire resistance, stone wool also provides excellent protection against corrosion. It is a chemically robust material with a strong resistance to organic oils and solvents. In addition, stone wool does not absorb moisture and is highly water repellent, providing excellent protection against corrosion.
