PRODUCT PROPERTIES Rsistance to water and moisture PAROC products are intended to be used in dry conditions. Stone fibre is non-hygroscopic and the moisture content of the insulation in normal service conditions remains below 1.0 % in volume. Structures should always be designed to restrict water vapour transmission to avoid condensation. During the installation process, moisture is often prsent. To guarantee the proper functioning of the insulation, PAROC products are treated with a water repellent agent. Because of the composition of PAROC products, they naturally repel water. We have a range of products that fulfil ail the requirements of the BS 2972 water repellence test. Furthermore we have also products which will pass BS 2972 Pt 12 test, even after they have been preheated to 250 °C. PAROC products have an extremely low rate of water pick-up, amounting to only 1.0 % in volume. Chemical r驩sistance PAROC products are highly resistant to organic substances. Neither oil, solvents, moderate acids nor alkaline solutions cause damage to the wool. Stone wool products themselves do not promote corrosion. Stone wool is a chemically inert, slightly alkaline material with a pH value of between 7 and 8.
