Do not be alarmed. There is no extra charge for these occasional 'signed originals'. Our handmade terracotta originates from where the ancient craft of producing consistently fine quality roof and floor tiles has been perfected over many centuries. Many clays are pitted with stones or other impurities - or contain salts that crack the tile as they come to the surface during firing. It begins when the 'right' clays are taken from the earth and physical and chemical impurities removed. The resulting balls of clay are shaped and cast individually into frames where they are left to dry in the sun before firing. Look at the bottom of a tile and you will see the marks of the sand bed furniture. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1 ■ | | | | | < Navarra Terracotta | | | | | | | | | 1 n ssr | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
