Industrial Diffuser Method of Operation and Aerodynamic Data Method of Operation With the bottom damper closed, air entering the diffuser is diverted and is discharged through the opening in the diffuser shell. The ideal arrangement of the diffuser rings guarantees a consistent flow across the entire height of the diffuser shell. Rotating the bottom damper 90° opens the air control mechanism downwards and thus generates a distinct vertical jet that reached large penetration depths even at high temperatures.
