For our collection, I have chosen the theme: ‘Form Follows ƒ >
(x) unction’ Only this time, instead of using the dictum coined in 1896 by Louis Sullivan, >
“Form Follows ƒ unction”
I refer to the mathematical function, Formula. >
(x) .MGX, as it stands for Magics, depends on the powers of the designer’s magic wand, based on knowledge of digital design tools. All our designers and I myself, create computer-designed objects through a scheme of abstract notions, each using his own preferred
Modern 3d software and animation
modern software (Rhino, Studiomax, Maya, Cinema4d, Microstation, Solid Works etc.). These represent the best of today’s computational tools for topological mathematics. Knowledge of these mathematical tools allows us to shape and calculate
building structures that may begin to compete with the complexity of nature, and even extend the Fibonacci law of all things towards supernatural structures. Our designers, in achieving the dictum, combine software packages and script their own tools to create unique and stupefying shapes. They twist our double-folded reality once more. With our rapid digital manufacturing techniques we then turn these shapes into reality. Welcome to Materialise.MGX The place where software magic allows you to realise your dreams.
