Wall and slab bearings for damping of structure-borne noise The principle The LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings combine the good characteristics of elastomer and cork. This combination allows the spans and distortions normally arising in residential construction to be facilitated stressfree and also offers high damping of structure-borne noise. LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings do not influence the load bearing capacity of brickwork and, consequently, the brickwork’s complete bearing capacity can be relied upon, even in extreme cases such as earthquakes. Secondary noise transmission paths Application areas The Swiss Norm SIA 181:2006 specifies noise insulation requirements, which are often not achieved using normal construction methods.
