Fire Resistance: Firecheck Type C is formulated to perform in accordance with ASTM C 1396, Section 5 and C 36, Type X, Premium and is UL labeled (Type LGFC-C/A). Job Name: Contractor: Date: Fire-Resistant Drywall firecheck ® Type C Lafarge Firecheck Type C is a gypsum board enhanced with glass fibers and other ingredients for premium fire protection for interior walls, ceilings, and area separations. The board has a naturally non-combustible gypsum core and paper facings on the front (ivory), back, and long edges. It is available in two thicknesses and several edge treatments, and the ivory facing paper will accommodate a variety of decorative treatments after proper surface preparation. Because of its strengthened, fire-resistant core, Firecheck Type C can remain intact for a prolonged period during a fire, preventing further spread of flames and when the installation is properly sealed at the joints, smoke. Firecheck Type C is designed for use in applications that require direct mechanical attachment to wood or metal framing or as a component of fire-rated assemblies. To ensure Type X premium fire resistance performance, follow recommended installation procedures for fire-rated assemblies. May also be used as a thermal barrier in roof assemblies when specified by the roofing manufacturer. Note: Firecheck Type C is suitable for interior applications only, and should not be used where temperatures exceed 125º F for extended periods or in areas of extreme humidity. Likewise, the board should be protected from exposure to adverse conditions during storage and construction.
