ducts which reinvented the bathroom setting. It did so with tubs that are lar-
ge, but have a simple appearance which resemble a suspended sculpture; with a line of modular
shower cabins which resemble small domestic architectural creations; and with products that are uni-
versally recognized as icons of the con-
temporary bathroom.“The exact reason why we decided on the Palombas was because they shared the same ambition and dream as ours: to bring sculpted style,
architecture and ordered shapes into the space known as the bathroom. Personally, we’re great
rustic fans of design and contemporary art, so we had to nd something which matched our preferen-ces for the bathroom. It seemed that this room had its own set of rules, that it did not belong to the rest of the house. In other words, it seemed to be a sort of necessary, but undesired addition. Then, there was the meeting between ‘us and them’. Since Ludovica+Roberto Palomba ope-rate on the same wavelength as we do, the products came quickly. In only a few months, we laid the foun-dation for the entire collection, which was then developed gradually, year after year”, said Sergio Venerus, the Mana-
ging Director of the company. “The Kos collection was created from a vision that aims to combine quality of life and ne design”.In 2005, the Grande tub and the Floor
shower tray manufacturer were awarded the prestigious Design Plus prize. In 2007, the entire Geo Line collection received the same award.Kos is intended for a top-level, quality, design-oriented market. Its typical user prefers to choose what he wants in order to build his own, highly personal “dome-stic panorama”, his own “landscape of life”.The home of today is an absolute value. It is the place that represents not only warmth, but personal taste as well; in other words, it is the direct expression of the quality of life. It is no longer a “cocoon” or refuge from external reality, as it was ten years ago. Today, the home is a place for redisco-vering the pleasure of living and is open to the world. The domestic setting is unfolding to ac-cept others, and the amount of time spent with friends is increasing.

Kos decide quindi di diversi care con-tinuamente il proprio prodotto, in senso morfologico e spaziale, mantenendo però costante la ‘qualità totale’ della pro-pria produzione. In 1998, Kos began producing whirlpool tubs and
multifunctional shower cabins at its headquarters in Pordenone.
To complement its proven technical skill in its sector, the company in 2001 deci-ded to call upon the design talents and experience of internationally recognized designers Ludovica+Roberto Palomba to design the company’s entire collection of products and take charge of the art direc-
tion. They developed a project that can be cal-led “total design”; that is, the products, exhibits, graphic layout of the catalo-gues, and company logos and publicity tools are developed in accordance with a single, speci c vision. The productive, spirited relationship that developed between the company and the designers gave rise in only a few years to a collection of highly innovative pro- 17/KOS. >
