Always store the profiles in a dry place and on an even surface ! Do not expose profiles, so long as they are still wrapped in the protective film, to weathering on direct sunlight ! Do not use any material that has been damaged during transport or is in any way defective ! Label defective material as such and
return it to us ! The profiles can be easily worked with standard wood-working tools. Before starting to assemble the profiles in a frame, be absolutely sure to first rmove the protective film ! The protective film, generally speaking, should not be exposed to external weathering for longer than tree months.

Commercially available wooden batten can be fixed to the supporting wall using countersunk-head wood screws and the appropriate plugs. The distance between these battens should not exceed 300 mm so as to provide resistance to the wind. When insulating, the battens must be thicker than the insulating layer.
The profiles are fixed on the substructure with claw fittings, e.g. no. 55. For outdoor use, stainͭless claw fittings are recommended. Suitable mails with notched hafts are essential to achieve the required rip-out strength. We recommend fixing the profile in such a way that takes account of the direction of expansion. When using claw fittings in outddor applications, profiles should not exceed a maximum length of three meters. Expansion must be possible to either side.
To avoid the risk of possible stuctural damage, sufficient back ventilation between profile and wall is essential. Gaps should be provided to allow the air to circulate.
To prevent driving rain from penetrating behind the cladding, the tongue on profiles fitted horizontally must point upwards.
A space of 5 - 10 mm must be left between the cladding surfaces. This joint should be backed with stips of bituminized felt.
When fitting in fixed vertical parapet elements the profiles should be placed horizontally with the tongue pointing upwards. The length of each such profile should not exceed 1.25 meters. If larger elements are required, these must be subdivided so that each section does not exceed the maximum length of 1.25 meters.
When wedging the cladding surface into movable elements, the profiles must be firmly bonded together in the tongue-and-groove area using KMMERLING adhesive HF 300 so as to form a single unit. If there is sufficient drainage, it is not necessary to seal the groove.
In applications where the profiles are permanently fixed with screws, e.g. the cladding for garage doors and entrance gates, the distance between fixing points must not exceed 700 mm. The profiles can be fixed in place using blind rivets or wood screws.

Tongue and Groove Profiles
Resistant to chemicals : insensitive to household chemical agents, e.g. ammonia solution, aliphatic benzines, weak alcohol-water solutions, detergents (non-scouring), water and building materials, e.g. concrete, gypsum.
Not resistant to : organic solvents, organic solvent mixtures, and preparations containing solvents (e.g. paint thinners, varnish removers, polishes, adhesives, etc.)

When fixing the profiles into movable elements, e.g. as door or gate panels where the profiles are inserted in a frame and fixed with holding or glazing beads, a space of 5 - 10 mm must be left all round to allow for expansion.
