CFL vs. Incandescent: A Bright Idea

ENERGYSTAR qualified CFL fixtures provide the same amount of light (lumens) as standard incandescent lamps,but have lower wattage ratings. This means they use less energy and cause less pollution. Because CFL lamps have a significantly longer operating life, the time between lamp changes can be increased from a couple of times per year to once every 4 or 5 years. With the advent of dimming ballasts, there is no limit to the ambiance you can create.
