Formaldehyde-free™ Fiber Glass Insulation
JM FORMALDEHYDE-FREE " FIBER GLASS INSULATION
JM Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass building insulation offers superior thermal and acoustical
performance—and it improves indoor air quality, because it's made without formaldehyde. Why is that
important? Because the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends limiting exposure
to formaldehyde as much as possible, and the California Air Resources Board, a division of the California
EPA, recommends that homeowners, builders and architects use building materials and insulation
made without formaldehyde when building a home or remodeling. JM is the only company in the industry
with a complete line of Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass building insulation. Visit JM.com/formfree

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Johns Manville EasyFit® perforated thermal and acoustical fiber glass insulation features vertical perforations
that allow installers to separate sections by hand, rather than cutting the insulation, to fit nonstandard-width
framing cavities quickly and easily. Considering that over 35 percent of all cavities in a typical home are
nonstandard-width (even more in custom construction), EasyFit insulation allows contractors and installers
to significantly increase their installation productivity. The lightweight thermal and acoustical insulation is
made of long, resilient glass fibers bonded with an acrylic thermosetting binder
AVAILABLE FORMS
• Unfaced batts
• Kraft-faced batts (where vapor control is required)
Each EasyFit package contains both standard and perforated batts to meet all your insulating needs.
APPLICATIONS
Use to speed installation in nonstandard-width cavities, anywhere unfaced or kraft-faced insulation
is required
New Construction
• Wood frame construction - residential homes and light commercial buildings
• Interior wall sound control - interior walls and floor and ceiling assemblies (For sound class ratings
for wall assemblies, see the appropriate STC values datasheet for either steel or wood framing.)
• Basement wall insulation
INSTALLATION
Vertical perforations allow batts to be separated to fit nonstandard-width cavities, for faster, easier
installation. It installs by simply pressing in place between studs. Fasteners may also be used with
kraft-faced insulation. The kraft facing on this product will burn, and must not be left exposed. It must
be covered with gypsum board or another approved interior finish. Where an exposed application is
required, use FSK-25 flame-resistant faced insulation

Note: In colder climate areas, vapor retarders (whether
attached to the insulation or applied separately) are often
placed toward the heated or conditioned side of the wall
This is done to reduce water vapor penetration into the
wall from the building interior. Conversely, in predominantly
hot, humid climates local practices often call for placing the
vapor retarder toward the outside of the wall cavity. Check
your local building codes forvapor retarder requirements.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
• Improves indoor air quality- because it's
made without formaldehyde.
• Thermally efficient - provides effective
resistance to heat transfer with R-values
up to R-21 (RSI-3.7).
• Controls moisture - kraft facing resists water
vapor transmission
• Controls sound - reduces transmission of
conversations and equipment noises through
nterior and exterior walls and floor and
ceiling assemblies.
• Noncorrosive - does not accelerate corrosion
of pipes, wiring or metal studs.
• Durable - unaffected by moisture, oil, grease
and most acids. It will not rot, mildew or
otherwise deteriorate.
• Resilient - bonded glass fibers will not
pull apart during normal applications and
resist settling, breakdown and sagging
from vibration
• Flexible - forms readily around corners and
curved surfaces.
