Anodised Aluminium Expanded Mesh System This cladding system has been designed predominantly for car park applications, however it is being considered for a variety of architectural sightseeing or rainscreen cladding applications. The principal elements of this system are connection shoes, which fix to the floor slab edges, windposts that run floor to floor, mesh panels that span floor to floor and the requisite fixings to connect up the different elements. We have attached a PDF copy of James and Taylor drawing No SWC 585, which shows the generic methodology of the system. The long-ways and short-ways pitch dimensions of the mesh can be varied significantly, as can the strand width and we are finding that most of the specifiers who have selected this solution have chosen different colours, orientation, and different pitch configurations within single elevations, so as to create diversity and interest in what can otherwise be relatively imposing large elevations. The anodising process produces an extremely durable and long lasting finish and can be provided in a wide variety of colours. We would expect our anodised aluminium expanded mesh system, which is extremely simple and quick to install, to be very cost effective.
