| The La Paz Bulbs and Accessories suite is a reminder of the beginning of the industrial revolution and a period of inventions. The La Paz is cleverly designed as a light source within a light source. For the end consumer the series is a play on what you "see" and what you "know". This simple idea arose from sketching the Edison bulb in a bid to create an exciting new lamp shade for it. The original Edison light bulb is recognized in the industry as an electric element to be hidden under a lamp shade without its simple style and mechanical appearance ever being noticed. Soon the sketch turned into a new way of observing the bulb, which then turned into this exciting lamp. The secret is in the various components. First the prototype was created. Then there was a need to blow glass into the shape of a bulb and "steal" bulb screw-cups from real bulbs. Then the glass was blown with a hole inside it so it could click onto a halogen capsule encasement. |
