3099 PLASTUK DEEP - 1

PLASTUK DEEP Polyester filler paste for wood 07/06/13 Description and use Two-component product based on unsaturated polyester resins. It is suitable for applying on wooden surfaces to reconstruct missing parts, even large areas, an also suitable for filling, joinery applications, etc. Hardens quickly with the addition of a special catalyst; after hardening, it can be subjected to the same treatment as wood, and can be repainted with most of the enamels and stains available on the market. It has a deep black colour, which remains even after sanding. This colour can be enhanced by applying a layer of clear finish; this makes PLASTUK DEEP particularly suitable for using on dark wood to obtain a beautiful finish. Wood must be compact with high mechanical resistance and with humidity within 8% and 15%. “Hairy” surfaces (wood fibers perpendicularly cut) have to be well imbued with a primer in order to strengthen the mass. Cerous essences such as exotic wood, birch tree, or oily as olive tree, tek or with a high content of natural resins as fir, larch, pine, and other coniferae must be well cleaned with a proper solvent and, besides, they have to be insulated with a special primer. Palisander (rosewood), oak, chestnut tree an others that contain substances which make difficult the adhesion, or soaked ancient woods of coal-tar, linseed oil, smokes, etc. must be treated anyhow with one or more coats of a primer surfacer (insulating).
