We live in an age of great technological development – and technology needs considerable amounts of energy to work.This means that energy will be the new frontier that will determine the technological development of developed countries in years to come.Nowadays, wherever we may be, we ask more and more of technology in terms of convenience, well-being, safety, protection and effi ciency.Energy sources are becoming more and more valuable. We should not waste energy but we should begin to think about sa-ving energy irrespective of the power source, be it solar wind, biomass, hydrogen or hydrocarbons.Hohner is constantly engaged in research and the application of new technologies. It has now designed and tested in its laboratories a series of products designed to promote energy saving in public and private lighting in the following major areas: roads, carparks, parking areas, motorway rest areas, etc.These products are the outcome of 5 years of studies, designs and tests by Hohner’s staff of technicians and engineers, who are engaged in a continuous quest to fi nd cutting-edge solutions.The product range introduced by Hohner ranger from a basic system that may be applied to existing systems such as REN-A, to more advanced systems that may be installed when a new system is constructed, such as the fully electronic REN-B system, which operates on high-speed bu- ses and is remote controlled by GSM signals.
