Axial fansProduct specific Information
The following information completes the sector general
information. dynamically balanced to DINISO 1940, class G 6.3 andVDI 2060. The contact with rotating partsmust be avoided. Make sure
that there are no items near the
inlet which could be pulled into
the fan. Fans which are connected to
ducting systems do not need
guards if the the ducting system
offers protection to EN 294.
We emphazise that the installer
is responsible for the safety of
the installation by fitting appropriate protection devices.
Suitable guards are available as
accessories.
The responsibility that all relevant regulations have been
observed remains with the installer. Made to order A number of extra features can
be factory fitted to the fans as
an optional extra. Types Standard impellers up to 630 mmdiameter are supplied with a fixedpitched angle. HELIOS offer a wide range ofproducts and therefore are able
to supply fans for almost any application. Built-in thermal contacts From 710 mm diameter upwardsthe blades are adjustable at standstill (see paragraph pitchangle). Standard for 1 phase models
3 phase motors: Standard for most models, seeproduct page.Available as an accessory for: single speed motors and
pole switching motors High efficiency axial fans areavailable in over 20 standard sizes and include more than1000 different models; many of which are shown in this catalogue. Profiled metal impellers madefrom cast aluminium (made to order) are available in all sizes. The standard models are suitable for air flow temperaturefrom 30 to +60 C. For highertemperatures metal impellersare available to order. See informationontheproductpages. Aluminium cast impeller Closely matched air flow andvolume can be achived on largerfans with a maximum diameterof 7100 mm through adjustablepitch angle. Four standard casing types are available. Air flow directionA = pulling air over the motor
B = pushingairoverthemotor Alternative voltages Alternative frequencies If not ordered differently, the fanscome in air flow direction A.
Air flow direction B is available
for most models at a modestcharge. Two pack coating ModelsShown in this catalogue1. Wall fan HQ square plate axial fan with inlet cone for protection against diluted acids and lime solutions Air flow direction B Higher air flow temperatures Axial fans are suitable for installation in any position. Ifcondensation is to be expected,
(e.g. for intermitting operation,
high humidity air flow or rapidly
changing temperatures) the fanmust be installed with themotordrainage holes facing down-
wards and they must be open. Flame proof motor (standardwith 1 phase explosion proof models) Pole-switching motors in explosion proof design. Casing made from galvanised
steel. Motor with terminal box
and motor side guard. Anti vibration insulation To avoid vibration transmission
to building and ducting the use
of anti vibration mounts (accessory SDD, SDZ) is highlyrecommended. Larger frame size motors may protrude out
of the casing and might move
the centre of gravity within the
fan. To avoid an uneven load onthe anti vibration mounts, an extension duct isrecommended
(accessory VR...). Casing made from galvanisedsteel. Motor with terminal boxand motor side guard. 2. Wall fanHW, AVD DK circular plate
axial with inlet cone With most fans, the air flow direction can be changed aftersupply, should it be required. To do so you have to:1.Change the direction of rotationof the motor by changing theterminals on the terminal board.2.Remove impeller and put it theopposite way round on the shaft(only possible up to 500 ).Models HQ and HW allow for a1/3 drop in performance. If installed outdoors, or in wetconditions or if installed with the motor shaft facing vertically upwards, this must be statedwhen ordering. Please make sure that the fan is fixed securely and the casingis not squezed or distorted. Reverse operation 3. In wall fan HSCylindrical duct case with spigot ends For flush, wall or in-line duct installation. Casing made from
galvanised steel with circularstiffening rings. 4. Cased axials HRF, AVD RKCylindrical duct with flangeson both ends Protection /guard For direct in line installation in
ducting. Flanges made to DIN
24 155, PT. 3. Casing made
from galvanised steel, additional terminal box (IP 55) on outercasing. Motor form Most axial fans are reversible(see product page). Using a suitable reversing switch. The
fan >
canbeusedforintakeorextract. All relevant safety instructionsand regulations must be followed when the fans are installed. A protection againstaccidental contact to VDE 0700
and EN294 must be guaranteed. Air flow temperatures The standard models are suitable for temperature from
30 to at least +40 C. The maximum temperatures can
be found on the specific product
tables. Apart from explosion proof fans, higher temperaturesare possible for a short time. For permanently higher temperatures special models are
available on request. >
Air flow direction Apulling air over the motor
Air flow direction Bpushing air over the motor Depending on the motor specification e.g. protection
class, power, fan diameter and
installation motors of the forms
B 0, B 5, B 14 or V... are used. Impeller Pitch angle The pitch angle of models
710/4, 800/4, 900/4 and
.../6 as well as 1000 mm areadjustable at standstill. This enables the fan to provide
the exact required duty. Depending on the performancerequirements the impellers are
made from various materials;
see product pages. The standard design is made fromreinforced polymers. Other materials, aluminium or steel,
are available on special order. Thepitch angle is factory set (must
be stated when ordering). The
motors are selected using their
maximum performance (see table on product page). The maximum pitch angle shown
must not be exceeded as the
motor will be overloaded. >
