Cabling: The reader will work well with unshielded cable in most environ-ments. No company can guarantee that data will be reliably transmitted for
long distances on unshielded cable in every installation. Typical Wiegand
reader installation requires eight-conductor shielded cable to provide reader
power, controller communication, door contact, exit push button, and tamp-
er switch status. The same functionality is provided by Proximity Perfect
readers, “supervised” with four-conductor unshielded cable. Micro/5 Micro/4 Micro/5 2RP 2RP 2RP All standard ports 2SRP 2SRP 2SRP 8RP 8RP 8RP 8RP >
INSTALLATION STATUS INDICATORS Models 840 and 845 Contactless Smart Card Readers come
with a backplate and a weather-resistant gasket suitable for
mounting directly on a standard single-width USA electrical
box. The reader may also be mounted directly on a wall. Models 840 and 845 Contactless Smart Card Readers provide
both an LED status display and a programmable beeper to
indicate reader operation and status. Combinations of beeps
and LED displays indicate microcontroller communicationsstatus, reader tamper, card or PIN code error; in addition to
indicating a valid badge read and a PIN entry requirement.
