REGIO Woodford Wells come back for more Desso Grand Slam Wimbledon FC in the Premiership, Jonah Lomu destroying England and Pete Sampras winning Wimbledon – 12 years
is a long time in sport, but some things don’t change. Take Woodford Wells LTC for example. 12 years ago they became the first tennis club to select the (then) unknown
Desso Grand Slam, the original dense, short pile carpet
designed for tennis at the highest level. 12 years later they
again selected the Desso Grand Slam to re-surface these
existing courts.Whilst the artificial turf industry sensibly suggests that a sinking fund be set aside for replacing a 23 mm pile height
sand-filled surface after 10 years, evidence has shown that
carpets with less than half the pile height require replacing
much sooner. Not, however, the Desso Grand Slam. Tufted using own Desso’s Crown yarn, this monofilament fibre has proven to be the exception. No other monofilament yarn of this pile height (9 mm) has lasted longer than the Desso Grand Slam and it is a testament to this quality that Woodford Wells LTC selected the same again. Offering grip underfoot and unrivalled durability, constistent ball bounce and speed off the surface, the Desso Grand Slam is the most proven monofilament short pile surface on the market. Just ask any of the other 100 plus clubs that play on it. Desso Sports Systems NV - Robert Ramlotstraat 89 - 9200 Dendermonde - Belgium T: +32 (0)52 262 411 - F: +32 (0)52 214 865
