DESCRIPTION
Decoustics compound curved
design panels providearchitects and designers with domed ceilings
that have an acoustical solution to the problems
of sound focussing and reflection normally asso-
ciated with traditional hard surface finishes such
as gypsum board, plaster, glass reinforced gyp-
sum (GRG), fiber reinforced polyester (FRP), or
wood. Dome shaped panels consist of compound, three-dimensional factory pre-curved units using
one radius in all directions throughout the curve.
Domed ceilings are made up of multiple, precisely engineered panel sections.
Any one of several mounting methods can be
employed depending on plenum access require-
ments, available substrate, plenum clearance,
and panel joint preference e.g. closed reveal or

All Decoustics panels are custom fabricated and
offered in a variety of sizes, geometric shapes,
thicknesses and finishes.
LIMITATIONS
Minimum radius is 9'-0" (2745 mm). Ceiling hanger by installer
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
The panels alone can form the dome without the need for a domed substrate. If, however, adomed substrate already exists, panels can be
directly mounted to it.Dome shaped panels are only available with a
fabric finish.
Decoustics recommends 2" (50 mm) thick panels
to be used in all dome areas.
Providing the minimum radius requirement is
met, it is possible to manufacture Dome Shaped
panels consisting of more than one radius, e.g.
elliptical.
Depending on panel radius and thickness,
exposed darting along edges may result with
some fabric finishes which may or may not beprominent. However, darting is minimized whenusing Decoustics standard
