a mostra “dentrofuori” degli artisti Maik e Dirk Lobbert, compresa negli eventi di Manifesta del Kunst Meran Arte, rappresenta un’occasio-ne ideale per un dialogo tra design e arte. Casama- nia vuole contribuire a questo confronto-incontro presentando le sue novità ed i prodotti ormai storici in un museo-laboratorio ospitato da un palazzo del centro storico di Merano. Spazi esterni e interni qui si fondono creando un insieme articolato e dialetti- co tra pubblico e privato, intimo e aperto. L’arte dei fratelli Lobbert, incentrata sull’interpretazione degli spazi pubblici e privati e sulla loro trasformazione mediante la ripetizione, lo spostamento, l’estensio- ne dei segni individuati nel contesto, ha trovato in questo museo un’ulteriore momento per estendere l’allestimento e l’esposizione. Gli artisti “giocano” qui con le loro opere e con gli altri oggetti, offrendo così anche la loro immagine in un ready-made totale di spazio-arte-design-autore. Nella società della comunicazione queste situa- zioni tendono spesso a sovrapporsi e ad interagire oltrepassando cortocircuiti con risultati carichi di interesse e sollecitazioni sia per l’arte che per il de- sign. I nuovi prodotti proposti in questo catalogo si collocano su questa linea facendo proprie le dina-miche dell’attualità in tutti i suoi risvolti: nei bisogni, nell’immaginario, nel costume e nelle forme.

he exhibition “innenaußen” insideoutside den- trofuori’ held during the Manifesta cycles of events at Kunst Meran Arte, showcased the work of artists Maik and Dirk Lobbert and offered a perfect chance to examine the dynamics between art, design, and the spaces of the museum. Casa- mania is always seeking to develop a forum for ex- change, placing products from its catalogue (both new as well as more ‘historic’ creations) in this mu- seum/laboratory located in a building in Merano’s historic city centre. Indoor and outdoors spaces intersect creating a ambiance which is both articu- lated and conceptual: public and private; intimate and exposed. The Lobbert bothers’ art is focussed on an examination of public and private spaces and their transformation through use of stylistic motives such as repetition, shifting and the development of certain aspects inherent in the spaces. The museum location offered the artists further opportunities to extend their vision and exhibition. The artists played with their works and with the other objects, adding their own image to the vivid interaction of space/art/ design/artist. In today’s mass-media culture these sorts of situation often overlap and extend beyond their original ambits. The results are often fascina- ting provocations for both art and design. The new products on show in this catalogue are on this wave- length. The are made contemporary by their adoption and interpretation of all aspects of modern society: its needs, its dreams, its habits and its shapes.
