Finishes and Backings

We offer the following finishes and backings on many of our fabrics furniture to enhance their performance or to achieve the specification requirements of a manufacturer. Unless otherwise noted, these finishes must be added to our stocked fabric and can add up to two to three weeks to a delivery time. Acrylic Backing (Light) Provides a barrier to prevent bleed through of adhesives for upholstery and panel fabrics. Improves the ease of handling the fabric for some manufacturers. Certain lighter weight fabrics require Teflon treatments before receiving acrylic backing. Acrylic Backing FR (Light) While providing the properties of regular acrylic backing, this backing will allow some fabrics toachieve certain flame retardant test criteria. Acrylic Backing (Heavy-Clear) Provides a backing for some fabrics suitable for direct wall application. Prevents bleed through ofadhesives during installation. Acrylic Backing (Heavy-Opaque) A special backing which builds the opacity of the fabric to prevent substrate transmission orshadowing. Also eliminates fraying and adhesive bleed through. Adheres to water based adhesives. Non Woven Backing A special backing which builds opacity of the fabric, to prevent substrate transmission orshadowing. Also eliminates fraying and adhesive bleed through. Adheres to water based adhesives.May be preferable in handling for certain manufacturers. Anti-Microbial Treatment A special finish for upholstery and panel fabrics which prevents the growth of mold, fungus andbacteria. Will withstand 3 dry cleanings.
